Inspired by one of our former projects, Lewis of Lewis J Champion Ltd approached us to create the sign for his brand-new salon opening in Uppingham. He would regularly walk past the Garage Bakehouse in Market Harborough on his commute to work and decided he wanted his signage to replicate that of theirs and so he got in touch.
The design is that of his logo and was handcrafted from Corten steel giving it its amazing rusted weathering effect finish. Involved in the entire process from initial design through to installation, we love the way it pops against the monochrome paintwork of the building, it is a real statement piece and stands out.
We love creating bespoke signage and being approached with new ideas and projects, drop us a message to see how we can help.
“Quality is of the utmost importance to me and it’s something I strive for in every cut, so working with Arthur Francis Sculpture was a no brainer.”
We can design and produce metal signage to suit any style or location, bringing your ideas to life or developing a concept for you from scratch.
Custom signage projects are conceptualised by our in-house designers and our experienced craftsmen fabricate and finish the project in our workshop. You will be able to see your metal signage design drafted up in detailed CAD drawings before we start.
Pieces are crafted to a high specification using a variety of techniques, both traditional and modern, and including the latest plasma-cutting technologies.
Check out our portfolio page for more examples of previous metal signage work, for homes and businesses.
Our Corten steel signage pieces can be delivered in an un-weathered, partly weathered or fully weathered state, the choice is yours. All of our work is made from 5mm thick Mill Test Certified (MTC) steel.
We also can also create metal signage with a lacquered steel or painted steel finish.
Corten steel signs offer an industrial or rustic style effect and can really pop against the right back drop.
Cor-Ten is a brand name for steel alloys which were developed to be weather-proof even without paint. Other names it goes by include ‘weathering steel’, ‘rusty steel’ and ‘Corten’.
Corten or weathering steel, organically adapts to its environment, producing a vibrant orange patina, which not only protects the steel but creates a stunning finish. Not only will your design be unique but also the way it weathers too.
Rather than rusting entirely, the surface transforms over time in a consistent way that prevents further corrosion. Weathered steel offers an appealing and stable rusted finish, lending itself brilliantly to the creation of customised rustic signage.
