Inspired by one of our former projects, Lewis of Lewis J Champion Ltd approached us to create the sign for his brand-new salon opening in Uppingham. He would regularly walk past the Garage Bakehouse in Market Harborough on his commute to work and admire their signage and decided he wanted to replicate the look.

The sign design which incorporates the business logo, was handcrafted from Corten steel. We love the way it pops against the white paintwork of the building, making it stand out.

Bespoke Corten Steel Signage

We can design and produce metal signage to suit any style or location, bringing your ideas to life or developing a concept for you from scratch.

Our in-house designers will initially conceptualise your custom design using CAD drawings. Once approved, our experienced craftsmen will fabricate and finish the project in our workshop.

Pieces are crafted to a high specification using a variety of techniques, both traditional and modern, and including the latest plasma-cutting technologies.

Your final Corten steel sign will delivered in a semi-weathered state. All of our work is made from 5mm thick Mill Test Certified (MTC) steel.

Why Corten Steel?

Corten steel signs offer an industrial or rustic style effect and can really stand out from the crowd.

Cor-Ten is a brand name for steel alloys which were developed to be weather-proof even without paint. Other names it goes by include ‘weathering steel’, ‘rusty steel’ and ‘Corten’.

Corten or weathering steel, organically adapts to its environment, producing a vibrant orange patina. This not only protects the steel but creates a stunning finish.

Rather than rusting entirely, the surface transforms over time in a consistent way that prevents further corrosion. Weathered steel offers an appealing and stable rusted finish, lending itself brilliantly to the creation of customised rustic signage.
